Eco Committee

What does the Eco committee do?

The GEC Committee looks after our gardening and wildlife areas, as well as helping the school to reduce its carbon footprint. The committee has gained the Royal Horticultural Society Campaign for Schools Level 5 Award. Our parent governor, Mrs Pateman-Gee, enthusiastically leads the Eco group. We have achieved our Green Flag award Eco Schools award

Our Solar Panels

In 2012, we had solar panels fitted. Click on the link below to see how much energy we are generating:http://sproughton.suffolk.dbprimary.com/suffolk/primary/sproughton/arenas/websitecontent/web/energyportal.jpg?width=160&height=120&scale=LIMIT_MAXSIZE

Eco Policy

The Eco committee helped to develop the school's Eco Policy and now works hard to ensure that it is implemented across the school.

As part of the Eco policy, we recycle food waste, rainwater and produce our own leaf compost.

Garden Area

The Eco committee work extremely hard to maintain our RHS award winning garden. Within the school garden, there is: a reflective area; a sensory garden; a nature area; a bird feeding area and wild flower area.
